Suzuki Motor Corporation is very pleased to announce that the new Jimny has moved into the top three of both the World Urban Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year categories in the 2019 World Car Awards. The second round of judging concluded recently and the final three new cars in each voting category were announced on the 5th of March at the Geneva Motor Show.
Following the top three successes for Ignis in 2017 and Swift in 2018 in the World Urban Car Category; Jimny made it through the first and second round of votes and is now the third Suzuki to make it into the top three for World Urban Car for three consecutive years. It is also well inside the top 10 finalists for overall World Car of The Year. This time around, 40 new models entered the World Car Awards programme.
Mike Rutherford, World Car Awards Programme Juror, Executive Director and Co-Chairman comments “Suzuki has again seen off many rival manufacturers from all corners of the globe to become a 2019 World Car finalist – this time with its all-new Jimny. This is a Company that produces some of the finest small cars on the market, and it may yet go on to lift a trophy at the New York International Motor Show in April”
Simple and beautiful, the all-new Jimny is built to express off-road functionality. Its strong square body expresses its off road ability and robustness. The front grille is simple and black, highlighting the round signature headlamps accentuating the strong exterior even more. Engineered for professionals, there is no compromise in its exterior design.
